I've been so busy lately that I've barely had time for fandom or anything. I miss you all and I miss playing here. One of the things that has been keeping me occupied on the weekend is some redecorating and with that comes LOTS of cleaning. I got some new furniture and it's been exciting.

Anyway, all this whining brings me to my goal. I want to jump back into fandom fun and I can't think of a better way to do that then by celebrating one of the best seasons and holding a contest. So please, please, please sign up and let's have some good ole fashioned silly fandom fun!

I've been feeling like crap for the last 4 days, which is so very unfair because I just got my computer working and I actually had some free time. BLAH, stupid sinuses. Today was the first day in 4 days that I didn't wake up with a headache.

I've been so busy with work lately and it looks like I'm officially moving into an office with a colleague. I'm super stressed about it, mostly because change is difficult...well that and there's a lot of pressure to earn more $. LOL

So I guess I've sort of felt like my life was in a bit of a state of flux. It's funny how little changes seem to have such profound consequences on one's life. ~~deep thought for the day~~ LOL

Onto the fun.

My nephew is getting huge and he's a crawling machine so I'm told. My sister is a sweetheart to send me pictures and little vids every week. I miss him so!

I've started the CF entries, but OMG, there's so many it will take me forever to get through them all.

ohfreckle you will always be sanami276 to me! made this icon a long time ago and I feel in love with it. It's one of my favorite icons ever. She doesn't get why I adore it utterly and completely so I thought I'd try to explain.

It was one of the first icons I ever uploaded to LJ back when I didn't even know how to upload icons. LOL And while I'd love it just for a sentimental reason like that, it means so much more to me. It's from CHA-CHA (plus she captured like a perfect kiss and Brian's hand on Justin's throat - GUH) and it's understated in it's coloring but I find that the splashes of color just fill me with glee and the ALWAYS...well, it's the perfect description of teh love!

I couldn't ask for anything more. :D

However, she made more...lots and lots of icons and graphics and one day, she made some love bars. Don't know what those are? Well then you'd better get your butt over to qaf_art_dept AND CHECK THEM ALL OUT!

I got a new HDTV this week and I must say it's totally SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. I upgraded to HDcable and OMG, I cannot wait to watch TRUE BLOOD on it tonight. HARPER'S ISLAND in HD on a 32 inch screen was such a treat last night. hee

Yesterday was such a nice day for me. My youngest sis and I went to see UP with our Dad. We saw UP and while we were watching the DISNEY opening, he commented on things changing and I said, "What's changed? You're at a Disney Movie with your girls." See when we were little, after my Mom died, my dad took us girls (myself and my other sister) to all the Disney Movies. It didn't matter if it was SLEEPING BEAUTY, FOX and the HOUND, THE RESCUERS or ROBIN HOOD (my personal fave), he took us to them all and we always got the album that they sold at the theater. Does anyone else remember those records?

Anyway, UP was a typical DISNEY flick. There was smiling, tears, heartbreak, a message, and did I mention heartbreak?

Several of my friends have been cajoling begging twisting my arm asking me to host another SCAVENGER HUNT. I've been mulling it over and here's what I've decided: I'm interested in doing it. HOWEVER, it will not be as long or as intense as the first one. Plus, I'm going to set some limits. There will still be prizes and teams but I really need to know if people are interested before I commit to such a labor intensive project again. All joking aside, here's a serious poll. :D

Finally, let's talk fandom. I finished all the entries at bj_action and I can now say WOW...those were all great, the stories, the graphics, the vid. If you haven't played over there, you're missing out and I shall pity you. However, if you have played over there and you haven't left massive amounts of fawning, I'm very disappointed in you!

I jinxed myself yesterday by playing hooky. I ended up feeling like crap by the end of the day and my head is still stuffy. sighs.

I'm home for like 40 minutes between dockets and errands. Just enough time for me to freshen up. BLAH.

Wish me luck at my hearing this afternoon. I'm fighting to have my clients (3 boys) returned home. It's a long story but this case has been adjourned twice before & it's a huge mess. I'll be fighting the removal which is something that is rarely done. It's the first time I've done it but after doing my homework (and trust me, I did...by the time this case is over I'll probably get paid $10/hour for all the work I've put in) I'm convinced that removal was premature.

I haven't had a chance to read ANY of the fics or played with any of the goodies at bj_action yet so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FLIST DO ME A FAVOR AND GO CHECK THEM OUT AND SMOTHER EVERYONE WITH LOVE.

I know I sound like a broken record but participation is what keeps fandom alive!

Work front: Had a client today whose record is like as long as I am tall complete with armed robberies and he's going to tell me that there's a huge difference between be charged with Resisting and Obstructing an officer (a 2 year felony) and the four year one when an injury is caused because it's a crime of moral turpitude. YA THINK??????? How about all those other crimes. Sheesh. *Debbie smacks him on the head*

In other news, I had a delightful lunch with shadownyc yesterday. We spent hours chatting about all sorts of things. It was a great visit and I'm so glad she had to come to town for a conference. She's even more sweet in person than she is online. ;)

HELP ME!!!! Since it seems that Franklin Covey is now on my boycott list, I'm lost. I've used this company since law school, that's like 15 years. I think I'm going to be lost without my beautiful leather burgundy planner and my blossoms inserts. I love my monthly tabs and my daily pages. *sobs* Does anyone know if there's another refill that will fit a compact Franklin planner? Can anyone recommend a different brand?
