I got a new HDTV this week and I must say it's totally SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. I upgraded to HDcable and OMG, I cannot wait to watch TRUE BLOOD on it tonight. HARPER'S ISLAND in HD on a 32 inch screen was such a treat last night. hee

Yesterday was such a nice day for me. My youngest sis and I went to see UP with our Dad. We saw UP and while we were watching the DISNEY opening, he commented on things changing and I said, "What's changed? You're at a Disney Movie with your girls." See when we were little, after my Mom died, my dad took us girls (myself and my other sister) to all the Disney Movies. It didn't matter if it was SLEEPING BEAUTY, FOX and the HOUND, THE RESCUERS or ROBIN HOOD (my personal fave), he took us to them all and we always got the album that they sold at the theater. Does anyone else remember those records?

Anyway, UP was a typical DISNEY flick. There was smiling, tears, heartbreak, a message, and did I mention heartbreak?

I'm so excited. I'm leaving for Vermont TOMORROW to see Dracula (aka my darling nephew) and my sister.

I CANNOT WAIT. I'm rushing around to finish up court stuff and get the hell out of dodge.

I can't stop thinking about how for the next 4 days, I will be playing with this adorable little guy!

It's time for Auntie Bunny to show off her beautiful, happy nephew again.

My sister wanted me to tell of you that gave her advice or shared your story about breastfeeding thanks and that while there have been some setbacks, things seem to be slowly improving and Reason is now at 9lbs 5oz. :D

Here's the thing, my sister needs some people to talk to about breastfeeding and I don't have any kids, our step-mom is insane, and we're not at all close with our real moms sisters. Bottom line: our family is fucked up.

Plus, my friends all used formula.

Here's the thing: My sister (mommy_to_be) wants to breastfeed and she has some questions about that, nipple shields, feeding patterns, and bottles. You all know that Reason was in the hospital for losing so much weight and that he's doing better now, but he's using a nipple shield and my sis wants to wean him from that but she has some questions.

If anyone has any suggestions or doesn't mind chatting with her, I'd so appreciate it if you'd comment here. She's going to track the post and she'll come in and respond when she can break away from Dracula Reason.

I'm so annoyed with clients right now that I am wondering why I even bother sometimes. Two clients (plus my brother but that's a WHOLE other story) didn't show up for court and I had to call them both AND WAIT AN HOUR for them to show the hell up. Come on people, I have more important things to do like play with pictures of my nephew, update files and complete billings (all from waaaay before I went out of town).

Anyway, then they're both nonchalant, like HELLO, I just saved your ass from a bench warrant. ~grrrrrr~

Ok, enough about that. Reason is doing so much better, so I thought I'd share another picture of him.

I've got some great news and can now fill you guys all in on the baby situation.

First, I'm home and a HUGE thank you to everyone who responded to my last post. Watching my nephew being born was a crazy experience (one that reaffirmed my desire to never have children) and we were all so happy.

My nephew, Reason Jon, is the highlight of my life.


However, if you saw Xie's post last week, you know that we had some problems. Unfortunately, Reason went back into the hospital when he was only a week old and he didn't come home until Christmas, in the afternoon. He was there for two full days.

The experience was horrible and terribly distressing. He had lost too much weight and was dehydrated and even after he came home, there were concerns about whether he'd start to gain weight.

As of this afternoon, at 2 weeks old, he seems to be out of the woods completely with a positive outlook from the doctor. I cannot tell you all how happy this makes me. I love him so and I've left a HUGE part of my heart in Vermont. (I fear that you will all be subjected to stories of him from now on...humor me.) :P Leaving was one of the hardest things I ever had to do (but I had to do it because I had a trial yesterday).


Reason is bright eyed and oh so adorable. He and I had some time together before his unforeseen trip to the hospital. We talked about snow and how much fun it can be with the snowmen and snowballs and snowboarding (I threw that in for his Mommy). I sang Christmas songs to him and all kinds of nursery rhymes. We even squeezed in 2 books. He will grow up to be brilliant! He was lifting his head and looking around the day after he was born. He's curious and playful. I love him so so so much.

But, I'm home now and way, way, way behind on all things in my life, including fandom. I cannot even pretend that I will go back and catch up on my flist. Therefore, I need a favor from you guys. If you wrote a story, made icons, etc, or posted something important in your life and I missed it, would you consider leaving me a link to the post? It would help to keep me from feeling so overwhelmed whenever I think of IJ.

OH MY GOODNESS. I realized today that 3 weeks from tomorrow I'll be in Vermont. I'm not decorating for Christmas here at home since I'll be having Christmas in Vermont. (My BIL and I are in charge of the tree. It will be their first one. I'm bringing lights and decorations. He's in charge of the tree.)

I'M GETTING SO EXCITED.

So, since I got a bunch of work accomplished today and I'm totally in the Holiday Spirit, I'm working on my Christmas Cards. However, my fandom list is rather small this year...but it's not too late.

I sat in Court all afternoon, thinking about what I was going to buy Dracula next. And boy oh boy, did I have a LOOOONG time to think because the prisoners from the jail weren't brought over for over 2 hours (and I had 2 in custody clients plus I got roped into standing in for an old colleague.) I was trying to think of ways to trick my sister into thinking the gifts were from someone else because she thinks I'm out of control. OMG, if she only knew.

Then, I get home to find out that she carefully read all your kind advice from yesterday (A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO COMMENTED. She was touched by all the good advice and so was I. I seriously love you guys so hard!)

How did I know she'd read the advice? Well, she'd added things to her registries (her MIL is giving her a shower in VT this weekend). L;FAJDFLKJA;LJFD;LAJSFSDLJA;LSF

I sooooooooo want to buy the bassinet/playard thingy that so many of you suggested. So now I need to think of another trick to get her all the stuff that I want to buy.

Perhaps I need an intervention.

Whew...what a crazy week it has been and it's only Wednesday.

Can I just say, I LOVE my new car. LOVE IT. It has a touch screen radio, free satellite radio, I can upload pictures to it and when in park, I can watch dvds. hee
It's totally awesome.

My dad is out of town this week and my brother has been taking care of the animals but Buddy (the family dog) had to go to the vet today. Try coordinating that between my brother (who is pretty useless), me (I was in court) and poor chet_lemon (who was at work). But it got done.

I was supposed to do jail visits today but between the vet fiasco and the freaking HEAT, I could not force myself to go sit in the smelly jail to visit 3 clients. I just didn't have it in me. I shall try again tomorrow.

I've got exciting news about Dracula (bwha ha ha ha)...he's a boy. hee My sister is planning for him to be a champion snowboarder and I'm planning on raising him to be a Judge. :D

I think I will do a name poll tomorrow.

It's the whole stupid universe that revolves around me. Happy Bunny thought for the day.

This is a very accurate statement and I send it to all of you out there who believe that the world revolves around you. You can have the world, I've got the universe. :P

I love my happy pills. Earlier I was cranky because I'd had a rather annoying day. Typically that would last all day and often well into tomorrow. Not anymore. I experienced my emotion and now I'm feeling fine.

I've been having fun teasing my pregnant sister. It's my job as the big sister. Besides, I have to get it in when I still can because now that she and chet_lemon are all grown up, they gang up on me. *snicker*

Going to get a new car on Thursday. I'm pretty excited about that. I want this inferno color but I've heard that cops target red cars more and I have a bit of a lead foot. Anyone have any info on this phenomenon?

I've been having so much fun wearing the WOMEN FOR OBAMA lapel pin that my babiest sis bought me. I can't wait for the new car so I can put my VOTE FOR CHANGE magnet on it.

Also, I'm extra bouncy because I think I'm taking a trip to visit my sister (and Dracula bwa ha ha ha) in Vermont at the end of August. squeeeeeeeee

I was at breakfast yesterday with a dear friend (we've been friends for 20 years...yikes). Anyway, we were discussing my sister and I said I thought she was a little lonely and she wanted me to visit and I wasn't sure if I could pull it all off. She said, "Let's go."

I can finally tell everyone. My sister in New York, the one who got married last year and who went to Romania for work, is pregnant.

I'm going to be an aunt. I'm so excited. I've always wanted to be an aunt. I've been waiting years for this and even the very strange fact that she's due the day our Mom died isn't harshing my squee at the moment.

I'm sooooooooooooo excited.

I can't wait to spoil the baby and be cool aunt bunny. hee

Is it wrong to hope that she has twins? (It could happen, our grandma had 2 sets hee)

My grandma had them in her garden and she and I used to cut them and make bouquets. I have lots of wonderful memories of my grandma, she was an amazing woman. She taught me how to snap the dragons. LOL.
