home again, home again...
My drive to Stowe, Vermont and my sister was uneventful and I made great time. We were both so excited. I got in around 8pm and they had dinner ready (my brother in law is great with the grill).

Photobucket
Have more candy and get comfortable for the tale of my trip. lol Yes, that's a piece of bunny shaped maple candy and I did see the State House. One of these visits, I'm going to find time to head inside to explore.

I brought all the gifts I'd bought Dracula so far, plus a box of books from when Sis and I were kids and a GIGANTIC bag of clothes from a dear friend of mine who had little boy last October. Needless to say, my Sis and I stayed up until almost midnight playing with baby stuff. She was so excited and I was so glad to see her happy.

We spent time shopping for baby stuff and picking out furniture for the nursery. She ended up ordering it online and it's due to start arriving next week. I'm so thrilled for them.

Adding our purchases to the clothes my friend sent, left Dracula's closet looking like this:
Photobucket

Plus, he's got some toys (from me, [info]chet_lemon, and my friend) and I just had to buy him 2 bibs and a teddy bear. LOL One bib was from chet and said I love my aunt (she wants to be an aunt) and one from me that says: I love my auntie (I'm the auntie). lol Oh, that blue tote is full of toys and the baby bouncer I bought looks like this:
Photobucket

However, I've now been banned from purchasing anything else until the baby is born. Of course, my sister forgot about the shower. *is evil*

Here's my Sis walking her dog in her "backyard".
Photobucket

This is the view from their deck and you can see a little bit of my BIL's garden in the bottom corner.
Photobucket

Photobucket

These are the steps leading to the parking lot:

Photobucket

Yes, YIKES but that's not all of them, then there's these:
Photobucket

I don't know how my sister does it everyday. She's awesome.
Photobucket

This is the creek right next to the parking lot that runs down the mountain near their deck.
Photobucket

We shopped with her Mother-in-law who is super sweet. We had a blast. Here's a few shots I took out the window of my new car. I let the sis drive because I'd had enough driving. lol
Photobucket

Please be sure to note the blurry wildflowers. ROFL

Photobucket

And this one has a funny story. I was showing Sis the pictures later that day and she says, "Why did you take a picture of our gas tank?"
ME: bwahahhahaa...that's not your's.
SIS (laughing): Why take a picture of someone else's?
ME: I didn't mean too but the camera is not fast enough.
Photobucket

We spent tons of time watching DEXTER, season 2 and got her husband hooked so I left season one and two for them to watch before season 3 starts.

Also, her husband and his dad made my Sis this beautiful sweater cabinet:

Photobucket

I told him I wanted one and he said maybe for Christmas. I laughed because the baby is due December 16. Then he said my birthday until he was reminded it's December 6th. ROFL. Then he said, "How about for your 40th birthday." We all (we were at dinner at his parents house) cracked up. It was so cute.

We also decided to host an online shower because my sister really has no time to travel between her work schedule and the due date and doctor appointments. Anyone interested in attending?

It really was a great visit. I was relaxed and so excited to see my sister. We hadn't seen each other since her wedding last year. It gets harder and harder to have her living so far away. *sighs* However, let's not dwell on the negative, it was a great visit and I'd left all my baggage behind and just focused on her, the baby, and us having fun giggling. It was great.

I had a super long drive home but I made it again in 12 hours despite traffic in Toronto and some construction.

Champ

and Charger

eventually forgave me for leaving them for 6 days and things are slowly returning to the status quo.

I did miss you dear flist and Brian and Justin but it was great to have an honest to god vacation. ♥

What a gorgeous place to live. So pretty and green and so many trees!

Your nephew will certainly be well dressed. Babies are so much fun to buy for :)

Your BIL is very talented. And yay for him liking Dexter. I marathoned s2 last weekend and was hoping we could squeee after you got back from your trip.

I'm glad your trip went well and that you were able to relax and enjoy yourself and leave everything behind. Everyone should have a vacation at least once a year.

Beautiful pictures. Again I am so glad that you had a wonderful, relaxing trip. And seeing the baby's closet reminds of how unprepared I was when the boys were born. Your sister really has it together.

Thanks so much Jule.

Most of that closet is thanks to my friend. She was such a sweetheart to save all of that for my sister. :)

Vermont
Beautiful, gorgeous pictures. I'd envy your sister, living in such beautiful country, but I've been in Vermont in the winter. All that white snow. Brrrr.

She's going to need lots of support because she'll probably be stuck in with Dracula for a couple of months. I had my first child in January, but I'm a quick learner and had the other two in May and June. A MUCH better idea, trust me.

I'm glad your cats have forgiven you. I was gone for a week, then brought friends home with me. The last friend left on Tuesday, but I'm still in the dog house. All of this without a thought to Mister Razor's comfort. (Plus I'm still not very helpful when it comes to mousing even though Mister has tried to show my how it's done.) FanSee

Re: Vermont
My sister lived in Aspen for almost 10 years so I think she's ready for the snow. LOL

Her husband's family lives close and his sister is due with her third the day after my sister. the world is so strange. I plan on being there for about 10 days after she has the baby to help her out.

LOL, cats are so fickle aren't they.

That looks like such a peaceful place for a vacation. I've always wanted to go to Vermont. It's the polar opposite of Florida and that's all that matters in my book.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time, I'm happy you enjoyed yourself so much. All that green surrounding your sister's house looks so relaxing. Your brother in law is very skilled, wow, that cabinet is lovely and he likes gardening too. :)

Now I don't envy those steps, it must be tiring and it'll be more tiring later on and then with the baby and carrying the stroller up and down. *is worried* ;)

Were Champ and Charger all over you when you got back home?

Thank you for sharing these lovely pictures.

*hugs*

I had so much relaxing fun. I miss it. lol

My sister is very much in shape. She snowboards and plays softball every summer (well not this one obviously lol). She'll be fine and I'm betting the stroller will stay in the car. ;)

NO, they were mad at me and ignored me for hours. lol

It took hours for them to even come say Hi

You are lucky that they ignored you just for a few hours...We had a cat before we got Ronny and Benny. His name was Sammy and he was only one year old when he died...*sobs* Sorry, but I still miss him....
So,we went away for ONE night and when we came back the next day he was pouting for a week! All he did was taking his food from us and that was it.He didn't let us touch him and he didn't want to play. After that week he flung his little, grey toy mouse at me and that was the moment when I knew everything was okay again.
